drawing of Mondrian, inequality, endless knot, particle physics tracks, and dots by Lauren Gohara
Do You Think You Can Tell #8
Graphite, colored pencil, archival pigmented ink on paper
14 x 11 in
2011

An endless knot appears at left. At the thin boundary, it loses all color as it intersects with the ghostly particle physics tracks. The grid of a Mondrian painting slips under a graph of the change in average income of the top 1% vs the bottom 99% from 1913-2008. Behind the graph, in front of the particle physics tracks, float pale dots done in graphite.
